French Dip Roast Beef Sandwich Recipe

Ingredients:

1 Pound of Bore’s Head Seasoned Roast Beef (deli sliced on 1)
½ Half Pound of HEB Stagionato Provolone Cheese (deli sliced on 1 ½)
1 Tablespoon of Butter
1 Tablespoon of Olive Oil (EVOO)
1 Small Can of Green Chilies
1 Medium to Large Onion (White for a little extra spicy flavor)
6 Hoagie Rolls (about ½ foot lengths) – Note – I like to make my own Sourdough Hoagie Rolls for extra taste. Of course French rolls were originally used but tastes vary - so use what you like!

Cooking Directions:

In a pan preheated to medium-high heat – Add butter and olive oil – Let heat then add onion and green chilies – Sauté to your liking and remove from skillet. Now add Roast Beef to skillet and heat evenly (do not overcook – actually reduce the heat to medium or a little less.

Cut open hoagie rolls and add one slice of roast beef then provolone cheese then another slice or two of roast beef. Then add sautéed onions and green chilies.

Serve with a cup or bowl of Au jus - See Recipe Below

Au Jus Recipe

Ingredients:

1 14 ounce package of Swanson Beef Broth
1 can (10.5 oz) of Campbell’s French Onion Soup
1 can of water
1/2-teaspoon sugar (any table sugar will do but I prefer to use light brown sugar)
2 teaspoons Lea & Perrins Worcestershire sauce
½ teaspoon salt
1-teaspoon of black pepper
1-teaspoon garlic powder

Cooking Directions:

Combine all above ingredients in a pot – bring to a low boil for 2-3 minutes – Use a colander to separate onions – Serve with Sandwich Hot - Yields about 4 cups of Au Jus.
